Neil Mackay, Technical Superintendent – Prosafe

RockSalt Subsea recently completed three phases of dive operations in support of the Safe Caledonia reactivation and Special Periodic Survey (SPS). Their scope of work included an in-water survey (UWILD), shipside valve replacement, and the installation and removal of a cofferdam.

All operations were executed in a safe, efficient, and highly professional manner. The RockSalt team played a key role not only in the successful execution of the work but also in the detailed planning, particularly for the cofferdam campaign. Their expertise and collaborative approach were instrumental in the safe and timely completion of this critical aspect of the project.

We appreciate the professionalism and commitment shown by the RockSalt Subsea team and look forward to working with them again on future campaigns.

RockSalt provided us with a team of skilled electrical technicians during a critical phase of installation. The experience of the personnel working under our Site Management team helped ensure a controlled installation process in line with the scheduling. Our Site Management team also found a strong improvement on overall quality control with the technicians providing the first completion inspections meaning that fewer punch items were raised during customer inspections. In addition, we utilised a RockSalt technician on a longer-term basis within our QHSE team with very positive effect to our site activities both in terms of safety on the job as well as overall installation quality, especially in relation to ATEX equipment.

I have known Tony for many years and he has a wealth of experience in the offshore / onshore diving industry. Over the years I have found Tony to be extremely professional in his role; he has demonstrated on many occasions how familiar he is with the HSE Diving at Work Regulations, IMCA guidance and company processes and operating procedures. Tony is well respected in the diving industry, which leads to a good working relationship with clients.

From the first time I met Tony French back in 2016, when he was in the early days of developing the Rocksalt Subsea business, I was more than impressed with his professionalism and passion for the company, services offered and safety. He kept close contact with us during the development stages and once everything was in place we were more than happy to use RockSalt Subsea ourselves and to promote them to our clients. We have had nothing but good feedback from the Captains of our vessels, in particular how the operation has been carried out in a timely, safe and controlled manner. Since then, we have used RockSalt many times and they have become our number one supplier for dive services.

Tony has always demonstrated excellent skill levels in his diving knowledge, both technical and theoretical. He has shown to have a very good all round knowledge of the diving world, in terms of legislation (HSE), guidlines (IMCA), Class etc. He has proven success in what he can contribute, as shown when he mobilised both diving spreads on a DSV and also daughter craft for the DSV for a contract in Denmark, that proved very successful for the company and the client.
